Understand how KSVT scores villages across health, education, infrastructure and participation.
The Village Development Index (VDI) is a citizen-facing scorecard. It is not a government ranking.
It measures 9 dimensions of village life, each carrying its own weight in the total: Water & Sanitation (10), Roads & Connectivity (10), Education (10), Health Services (10), Cleanliness (10), Governance (15), Environment (10), Citizen Participation (10), Government Facilities (15).
Every score is built from members’ own ratings of the village they live in. Where nobody has answered a category, it is left blank rather than counted as zero — “nobody has said” and “it is bad” are different statements.
So far 2 villages have been scored for 2026, averaging 56.7 out of 100. Trends over time need two scored periods before they can be drawn.
