Code of Conduct
What every member agrees to: truthful reports, respect for the people you name, and no political campaigning.
KSVT Member Code of Conduct
Every KSVT member agrees to this Code of Conduct. It is intentionally brief and built on three simple principles: tell the truth, respect others, and keep party politics off the platform.
Karnataka Super Village Team (KSVT) is an independent, citizen-led organisation. It is not a department of the Government of Karnataka and has no governmental authority. KSVT is politically neutral, is not affiliated with any political party, and cannot direct or compel officials to take action. It works with relevant authorities to help address community concerns.
1. Tell the Truth
When you report an issue, others may act on the information you provide. A volunteer may verify it, and officials may be asked about it publicly.
Report facts as accurately as possible. If you are unsure about something, clearly say so instead of guessing. Do not use reports to settle personal disputes. Do not submit duplicate reports to exaggerate a situation. If information you provided is incorrect, correct it when you become aware of the mistake.
2. Respect the People You Name
Issues and ratings may refer to real places and real people, including elected representatives, government officials, and community members.
Focus on actions and outcomes, not personal attacks. Do not use abusive, threatening, defamatory, or discriminatory language. Do not insult anyone based on caste, religion, gender, language, region, or any other personal characteristic. If your concern relates to a listed official, submit it through the appropriate complaint process rather than making general accusations.
3. Keep Party Politics Out
KSVT is a community platform, not a political campaign tool.
Do not campaign for political parties or candidates. Do not seek votes through the platform. Do not claim that a political party is responsible for work or activities recorded on KSVT unless officially verified. Members may hold personal political views, but the platform remains politically neutral.
4. Never Present Yourself as the Government
Do not claim to be a government officer or representative. Do not promise government schemes, benefits, approvals, documents, or decisions. KSVT does not issue government documents and cannot approve anything on behalf of the government. Your membership number (for example, KSVT-KA34-000001) identifies you as a KSVT member only. It is permanent and will never be reassigned to another person.
5. Protect Other People's Information
Respect the privacy of others.
Never publish another person's Aadhaar number, identity document details, phone number, or other sensitive information in an issue, photograph, or comment. KSVT stores only the last four digits of Aadhaar numbers, keeps them encrypted, masks them on screen, and excludes them from logs, audit records, and exports. Members are expected to follow the same standard of care.
6. When It Is Not Safe to Report Publicly
Public issues are visible within the community.
If disclosing information publicly could place you or someone else at risk: Submit the matter as a Confidential Case. Confidential Cases are accessible only to Super Admins. All access attempts, including unsuccessful attempts, are recorded. Allegations of corruption should also be submitted through the confidential process. Do not confront individuals or put yourself at risk while collecting evidence.
7. Keep Your Account Secure
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. Never share your password or one-time password (OTP). No KSVT representative will ever ask for your password or OTP. Do not allow others to submit reports using your account. Under Member → Account & Safety, you can: 4.1 View signed-in devices 4.2 Sign out other devices 4.3 Request a copy of your data 4.4 Request account closure Approved account closures are subject to a 30-day waiting period before permanent deletion, allowing time to reverse the request if needed.
8. If the Code Is Broken
KSVT may take action where this Code is violated. Content may be removed or hidden from public view. Memberships may be suspended. Every suspension must include a recorded reason. Suspensions may be temporary or open-ended. Any decision to lift a suspension is also recorded. If you believe a decision affecting your account is incorrect, you may seek a review through Member → Support.
9. Reporting Misconduct
If you believe someone is violating this Code, please report it through: The Contact page. Member → Support. The confidential reporting process.
10. Language and Accessibility KSVT is available in both Kannada and English. Use the language most suitable for your community. Let us know if any part of the platform is difficult to understand or use.
